SEO seems to be the talk of the town all the time. I can’t begin to tell you the number of days I woke up and said “Today is the day I am going to learn what SEO is about”. Sound familiar?
I have finally come to the conclusion that there are many things I would rather do with my time other than research SEO and be a professional SEO expert. I decided to reach out for some help and I was amazed what I found and it was at NO COST! Yes, there are people out there that want to share their wisdom on the topic and make life just a bit easier for us Online Marketers.
This site being a blog, it is important that every post and content written be done properly to enhance search engine rankings. That will be the focus of this post.
I finally came down to a very simple understanding of why SEO was important to you and me and to every search engine out there. It is simple. The search engines know that if people go to Bing or Google and search on a topic, people will keep coming if the content provided is great and actually about the topic title of the content. In other words if you enter the search term I want a dog, most people don’t want to see a picture of a sailboat that was built and it turned out to be a dog when it got in the water. Make sense? So the search engines reward anyone that wants to take the time to write solid content that is very on target and contains the use of the keywords being searched properly. If you write content the way they want and it is compelling enough that people read it, you move up the ladder to a number one spot and get traffic to your post and website for doing a great job. In a nutshell, that is why SEO is so important to us.
Here comes the good part. I am sorry I bored you with my explanation above, but I had to get it out of my system.
There are just a few things you need to be concerned with to get it right. Keywords, Title Tags and Headlines, Content, Content (SEO) Landing Page, and The Related Content to the article.
I am going to spare you from me writing a diatribe on each element because to be quite honest it makes me sick reading it and I am sure I will make you sick writing it.
What I am going to do is share with you a plugin I found for WordPress that will manage the job for you and you only have to do what you are told to do. I will also attach an article that explains the terms above if you really want to know what it means. The plugin is so simple to use that it could be called SEO For The Dummies That Wrote SEO For Dummies.
WordPress SEO by Yoast is a no cost download. Simple to install and within 2 minutes you will be an SEO mental giant. Install this plugin and then go to your favorite ever post you have written. The plugin shows on the edit screen of the post or page and makes sure that you get every part of a proper SEO document correct. Those things like Title, Keywords stuff I mention before will be examined and comments telling what you need to do to rank much higher in the search engines. Just by using this incredible plugin for three days, I have learned so much about how to use SEO to get higher scores. Since installing this plugin and using it I have seen pages jump on high value keywords that I have been writing for months with no progress. WordPress SEO by Yoast is the perfect solution to making everything you do have the best opportunity to score high.
I can’t promise your content will be perfect but I can promise that your content that you write and use this tool will score much higher, much faster!
So there you go, SEO tamed so that normal people can use it and use it well.
