Three years ago I embarked on a mission to go from a retired corporate sales manager to a kick butt online marketer. My journey has been anything but smooth and today I finally sat down to decide if I could change my course. My thoughts led to me realizing why my home business has missed my goals.

Sound familiar?

I have had some great success months with nice monthly income, but those months have been too few to really accomplish my goals. I decided to start thinking about what my goals are and to my surprise I really had no idea. I want to make money is not a goal!

Most great entrepreneurs talk about their results in the form of financial success . You have seen the testimonials, “I was down to my last $100 in my checking account”, “My boss let me go and I had no idea what I would do”, “I was living in the basement in my Mom’s house and didn’t think I would ever get out”. How many of those statements have you heard? These mind thoughts led to me understanding why my home business missed my goals.

Next is the second part of those statements, “Now I work from home with my business on autopilot”, “I make six figures and live the dream life”, “I make 5 times what I used to make in my J.O.B. and I never plan on looking back”.

So there you go, the normal statements we hear that makes an attempt to set up a cause and effect environment that is doomed for failure on day one! The statements that we hear that start the process of every Home Business wanna be, heading down the wrong path the minute they decide they want a J.O.B. just like the one that your prospective sponsor has managed to build.

Almost every person entering the Home Business arena is set up for failure the minute they decide to become an online marketer. They are focused on making money instead of making the most important realization of their life. They want to build relationships!

Relationship building in online marketing is about one simple practice. It is the practice that will get my total attention and become my primary goal. If I handle this properly all of the superficial expectations will fall in place without me doing a thing.

Step one for me: I am going to adopt the quote that I got from one of my best friends in this online marketing business. John Jackson. John is a very talented person and has the ability to allow people to look at themselves and grow. His quote is simple, “Do something for someone today, with the knowing that there is no possible way for them to repay you”. My action step will be to provide leadership, content & support for every person that wants to become an online marketer and have their own home business.

Step two for me: Time management has to become the road map for every single day. Without a plan for what you will accomplish for the day, you will accomplish nothing. You will hear more from me as the days, weeks and months unfold on this critical topic.

Step Three for me: My primary daily mission will be relationship building. You will continue to get emails from me and I plan to generate an atmosphere that when you see my emails you will open immediately to digest the content I am delivering. I want my relationships built from respect and enjoy the friends and advice I get from each and every one of you.

Step Four for me: I can and will help those that want some leadership and mentoring towards building their own home business. I can do this by delivering great content that will inspire you to set the same type of goals I am setting for myself as of today.

Every single person that I know that has been an incredible success in the online marketing, home business arena has done it by gaining the respect of those that follow that person. This thought is best explained by one of my favorite statements, “Follow The Leader”. These leaders are incredible people that have developed the skills to allow people to find their strong attributes and at the same time be willing to recognize their weaknesses and do something about it. Winners build relationships and from those relationships they build a business that accomplishes more than a great income. How do you put a price on respect?

Step Five for me: I have always wanted to build a place on the internet where people can come and find ways to resolve their roadblocks to finding the freedom they want in their own online marketing home business. Having had 100′s of people join my team and subsequently leave has been painful. They didn’t leave because of me, they left for one primary reason, they couldn’t build the relationships they needed to accomplish their goals.
